Thank you for making the responsible decision to have the neighborhood stray or your own
companion cat altered and/or deciding to help a neighbor, friend or family member get their companion animal altered. PLEASE keep reading to find out exactly how
to find a low-cost or no-cost spay/neuter option.
If you are not convinced that sterilization IS the greatest gift you can give a companion animal, check out the Informational Links to the right for information on the many benefits of spaying and neutering.
1. Contact your regular veterinary clinic and check their rates.
There are several reasons you should use your regular vet to have your companion animal(s) altered. The primary reason being he or she knows the
animal's health history and can recommend other procedures that the animal may
need. If the animal is a stray, rescue, in a multi-pet situation or in a feral
cat colony your regular veterinarian may offer a low-cost spay/neuter option if you simply ask.
If you need to find a veterinarian, please contact these agencies:
Oregon Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA)
Find a Vet Service or the
Oregon Department of Agriculture
Veterinary Search
utility.
